<p>The reasons you are picking a keynote speaker depends on lots of different factors. Who&#8217;s coming to the conference? What kind of people are they? Are they business people? These changes can be a challenge, but remember that tough times don&#8217;t last and economies do recover. When things begin to normalize, you will once again enjoy having just one boss for a whole year. You will also feel the ease of work from your plate as you relinquish the duties of doing the work of two people.</p>
<p>I think about how much we take for granted when we go through these challenges. This temporary episode in our economic history is here just for a moment. In perspective, they have been a part of our journey just as the growth has. Consider your own journey. It was not always easy. There were challenges along the way that were a part of our journey. In addition to our own work, sometimes our families have contributed to our success.</p>
<p>This point really hit home for me following one of my speeches. A while ago, during a program an elder from the audience shook my hand and told me stories about my family that went back to the 1800&#8242;s. Her name was Gertha.</p>
<p>At first I thought she meant my father, Rev Felder. Since she was ninety three and she mentioned that her grandmother told her the stories, I knew she didn&#8217;t mean dad. Rev Felder was a slave preacher that lived on a Texas plantation and spoke to other slaves about God and the bible.</p>
<p>Wow, think about hearing a story about a legend to someone else&#8217;s family that you or your family had never heard of. He was known to the slaves in the community as &#8220;Rev Felder&#8221;. Interesting history, as my father Robert Felder, my Uncle Luther Felder, Grandfather Luther Benjamin Felder, and Great Grandfather Gabriel Felder are all known as Rev Felder. I wonder how great grand dad, got his name &#8220;Gabriel&#8221;, hmmm.</p>
<p>I was officially in shock mode. How did she know this? Her mother&#8217;s side of the family, Franklin, originated from Washington on the Brazos, which is present day Washington County, Texas. Her family, during the time, were slaves owned and named by the &#8220;Franklin&#8221; family. The Felder&#8217;s plantation was across the dirt road from the Franklins. Like the Franklins, the Felder slaves had the owner&#8217;s last name.</p>
<p>The slave owners name was Judge Gabriel Felder of Orangeburg, South Carolina. He came to Washington County between 1852 and 1856. I visited part of the area where the plantation was.</p>
<p>Can you imagine going back into your history 150 years taking in the history of your ancestors? This was truly a humbling experience, going back to the area where my ancestors started their journey in Texas. Can you imagine going back into your family history 150 years taking in the history of your ancestors? Humbly, driving into the area on Felder Rd. and standing in the midst of vast lands that your ancestors once inhabited. Taking in the inspiration from an old church there that your ancestors may have started.</p>
<p>This was truly a humbling experience, going back to the area where my ancestors started their journey in Texas. Can you imagine going back into your family history 150 years taking in the history of your ancestors? Humbly, driving into the area on Felder Rd. and standing in the midst of vast lands that your ancestors once inhabited. Taking in the inspiration from an old church there that one of your ancestors may have started.</p>
<p>These were real challenging days for my ancestors and they managed to stay hopeful. When I look at today&#8217;s challenges, in comparison to where my family has been, I realized that today is a walk in the park in perspective. Those difficult times for my ancestors were the foundation for a prosperous future for my family.</p>
<p>Consider how much we take for granted when we look at our current challenges. Complaining is not who you are. You are made of much more. Think back to your ancestors&#8217; challenges and what they endured for you to have a little discomfort at a job.</p>
<p>As you go through organizational management and strategy challenges, continue to work through the tough times. I believe my ancestors looked to the future with hope. As I departed that day and reflected on my experience, I could not help but think my ancestors arrived to Washington County in bondage, and their hope allowed me to leave the plantation that day in a luxury Lincoln.</p>

<p>I figure there are 7 distinct factors to finding success in your own life. They are:</p>
<p>1. Have Faith &amp; Stay Positive</p>
<p>The most important thing that you can do on your search for success, is build a optimistic frame of mind and have faith that you will get to where you wish to go. Frequently, people are unable to consider an event or circumstance turning out the way they want it to. They only see a negative end-result. You cannot think along these lines. Not if you&#8217;d like to do well. At times, even when it appears as if circumstances can&#8217;t turn out good, you have to find ways that it can. That&#8217;s faith. That&#8217;s possessing a good mentality. Use your imagination if you need to!</p>
<p>Some youngsters are discouraged from a early age caused by inadequate direction. Once others grow older, they are introduced to this world that lets us know that we are unable to accomplish this, or we&#8217;re not suitable for that and, in return, our ability to be artistic and expect to have good things vanishes. However it can be brought back! All you&#8217;ve got to do is have strong faith and use your imagination!</p>
<p>2. Be Enthusiastic</p>
<p>In the past, I have found that no matter what work I have had, I&#8217;ve always been able to find something I didn&#8217;t like about it. A part of this problem was my lack of passion towards the work I did. Thankfully, I&#8217;ve discovered the effectiveness of enthusiastic habits.</p>
<p>You HAVE to be enthusiastic if you wish to find success. Those that have enthusiasm are always prepared to offer more and work harder. Why? Well, it&#8217;s simple&#8230; they do not focus on those minor negative issues that many individuals see in their employment.</p>
<p>Those negatives are really easy to find if you look for them and they can easily consume you to the point of failure, if you focus enough on them. Likewise, enthusiastic people discover the positive things and are ecstatic to be so blessed to perform such gratifying work. This is precisely opposite of locating the negatives in a job. After you find the good and concentrate on it, positive things will happen. It&#8217;s the law of the Universe. The things you seek out, and that which you make it a staple to target, you certainly will receive.</p>
<p>3. Have Courage To Take Chances</p>
<p>When you see what you have been looking for, get it! When a creative idea comes to you, investigate it! That&#8217;s how you get your creative imagination back. You have got to take a risk.</p>
<p>Lots of people never even recognize that they have an imagination or creative ability, because when those creative thoughts or creative ideas pop in their head, they scold themselves because of it. &#8220;They aren&#8217;t sensible,&#8221; they may say. <p>You have got to think big. You have to dream big. You have got to do more and be more.</p>
<p>Go the extra mile. Rise a little higher. Work just a little harder. Laugh a little louder. Don&#8217;t just put in an effort. Give it everything you have.</p>
<p>5. Work To Serve Others</p>
<p>This doesn&#8217;t mean go out and wait hand and foot on someone. It indicates, that anything you do, take action with the intention of assisting others. You may invent a thing that elevates the lives of others. You could start an enterprise that gives a very good service at an inexpensive price. Whatever you decide to do, do not work for cash. Work to elevate the lives of those who are around you.</p>

<p>Sure, you are going to get knocked down and yes, obstructions are going to block your path. Many people will also tell you that your path is impossible. That is fine&#8230; because you&#8217;re going to get back up, you are going to turn the other cheek and you are going to climb up that mountain anyways. That&#8217;s how you persist, and that&#8217;s how you find success.</p>
<p>7. Give Thanks</p>
<p>There is not a creature on this world who has best control over their life. Our life is our gift and we must be grateful that we have it. So, give thanks for every good thing in your life. Your family, your home, your job, your friends&#8230; give thanks to God for them. If you can&#8217;t help but find negatives, thank God for the lessons they have provided you with and thank God for the ability to overcome them.</p>
