There are so many prophecies and predictions that were written describing when will the world end. What appears to be so amazing, is how so many of them appear to be consistent in their description on how the world will end and the actual timing of this upcoming event.

The year 2012 has become a very famous and noted date, because it has been assigned to the end times through a 5125 year calendar that is set to end precisely on December 21, 2012. It is widely believed, that the end of the calendar marks a time when the world will reset itself and all that we know will be changed for ever. What makes this calendar credible is that it was developed by an ancient but, very advanced civilization known as the Mayans. This civilization has been documented with advanced mathematics and unique abilities to monitor and calculate the skies which allowed them to develop accurate calendars that impresses even today’s modern scientist. Even today’s scientist are baffled by what the Mayan knew so very long ago.

Even the Holy Bible has reserved an entire book describing the end times, which is known as Revelations. This book is entirely devoted to when will the world end prophecies. A great number of people find it difficult to interpret however, there are segments in it that accurately undeniably describe today’s times as when the world will end. It’s amazing on how it describes a star will fall to the earth and create a huge mushroom cloud that will darken a third of the world. Are they talking about a nuclear bomb or a meteorite….or better yet, neither of these were known back in these times. What’s more, is in how this book describes modern day jets “they had breastplates like that of iron and the sound of their wings were like many chariots rushing into battle”. Could these writing, which were done two thousand years ago be just a coincidence?

Most people have heard of Nostradamus, who is a well known prophet because of his many intriguing predictions that apparently came true many years after his death. It’s quite amazing by his predictions of the Winter Solitice, describing a solar event that will transform the Earth and change life as we know it. What makes this particular prediction so interesting is how modern day astronomers support not only the event but, how closely it is predicted to occur around the year 2012. It is believed that the planets will become aligned and unknown consequences will occur.

With further investigation, you will discover that they don’t necessarily describe the end of the world but, more like the end of the world as we know it. But, there are some promising possibilities in which there could be a chance for survival. It would be a very smart approach to take the time today and learn about how you could survive the events of tomorrow.

As you being your research and find out more about what is about to happen, you can become more prepared for this very frightening possibility that may be heading our way. The scary truths about natural disasters that are developing as we speak, the government cover-ups that are kept from the public, Swine Flu Pandemics and a whole bunch of other events are revealed by those that have devoted themselves to uncovering the truth. Be aware, that there are some who simply don’t get it however, those who have taken the time to investigate the reality of what is about to happen, provide a great deal of insight as to what you can do today to prepare for tomorrow.

With there being so much in common with ancient prophecies and how modern day events are beginning to support these predictions, there is a heightened awareness as more people begin to uncover the uncanny truths behind what is being predicted. From the infamous Mayan 5125 year calendar, the Aztec Calendars, The I-Ching prophecies, Hopi Indian teachings down to the trusted Holy Bible, we simply cannot ignore the commonality regarding when will the world end.

Because these prophecies and predictions all point to the same time period with such accuracy, there is a heightened concern as more and more people begin to investigate the evidence before us. Out there now, are some very frightening books and articles now surfacing that will literally scare you into believing and acting on what is to come. Those who have done their investigation are taking this issue very seriously and have written down their findings in these books and articles. You may be surprised, that they do describe what you can do to prepare for this upcoming event. What you will learn is that there is a possibility for survival and that you need to begin preparation now in order to help you and your family to survive.

We’ve all heard it said that we only use about 10 percent of our brains. I don’t know how anybody would prove this but somehow, I do find it easy to believe. As human beings, we’re so finite in our ability to think.

Here’s what I’m talking about: In life, we have so many questions that we can never answer regardless of how hard we try. To be honest though, it’s evident there is a higher calling because we need someone who is capable on answering tough questions. I think God is sitting up in heaven, shaking His head and laughing at us for not being able to understand such an easy concept.

One question that constantly comes up is how big the universe is, and then what’s on the other side of the universe, and how big those things are. If there’s no end to the universe, how does that work?

There are so many questions about God alone. How is it possible for Him to be all knowing, all loving and all powerful when the world is full of evil and people are going to hell?

These are the very issues that churches debate. Some believe it’s impossible to resist God’s irresistible grace and others say God gives us a choice. If it’s impossible to resist His grace, why are so many people going to hell? Doesn’t that go against the Bible where it says God is love (1 John 4:8) and says he desires ALL to be saved and come to the knowledge of the truth (1 Tim 2:4)?

In our limited finite minds, it doesn’t make sense. You can’t have the good without the bad, but there’s an easy explanation, one that we’ll one day find out when we meet our father in heaven.

You can run in circles and give yourself a headache just thinking about it, but ultimately we have to decide what we’re OK not being able to understand and come to the conclusion we’ll never be able to use 100 percent of our brains.

In exerting effort to allot time for your children to give homework help, you are making them feel important in the process. This is not that easy to do, specially when both moms and dads are working. These days, times are actually hard. As much as feasible, moms and dads will do everything to make sure that they will be able to earn as much so as to send their kids to good schools, provide them with healthy and good foods and give them what they want at most occasions.

With such hectic mindset, your children will surely treasure it if they will see that your with them, guiding them through it all. It is not enough that you tell your kids to do good or you remind them about what you would like them accomplish. You have to hone your children into growing up to be who you want them to be. But there are certain rules that you must follow in shaping up the minds of your children and helping them towards what they wish to achieve. Here are some methods that you can apply on your own endeavor about the matter.

1. You have to teach your children to always think positive. The initial thing that you are able to do in this regard is to show a good sample. You have to educate them the values that they can gain by studying the brighter side of things and situations. You must guide them in shaping up this behavior.

2. In shaping up their young minds on to reaching their goals, you need to set that ones which are realistic. You cannot let them dream something that they don’t have the capacity to achieve. You can’t be too harsh on them in this regard. They have to feel free to decide on the avenue that they want to take in life. You are just their mentor and their guide to make the operation easier for them. You are there to help them clear the obstacles on the roads that they have decided to take.

But you should never force them into doing anything that they cannot really do. You mustn’t make them feel like you will love them more if they will become another person or change who they really are. This can create more harmful effects onto their personality and growth over time.

3. You need to help them in setting objectives for your kids to reach whatever it is they wish to gain. You can also use rewards system to inspire them in accomplishing the set objectives. You ought to do this a step at a time. You can begin with one goal that is simple to do, then add some more ambitions that may challenge them more. This is a process. You need to make them see that they cannot do it all of sudden. You need to be there by their side whenever they need you. And also you have to let them be on their own if the occasion involves such.

4. Your and your kids must be very clear relating to the objectives and the steps to accomplish them. By being there to give homework help, you are on your way to having a better relationship with your kids. This is a good foundation for them to become you whenever they will make important choices on life and in taking the steps to reach their objectives through your motivations.

Known and documented as the laughing philosopher Democritus of Abdera placed great importance on being of a jovial nature. He was the co-founder of numerous interesting and profound theories one being the ancient atomist philosophy. He was considered very able to put his point of view about natural philosophy across with conviction by Aristotle.

There are a large number of works attributed to him in numerous fields including physics ethics mathematics music and cosmology. Although he has supporters who credit him with many works and views there are those that question whether they were his or his teacher’s Leucippus.

Together with his teacher and other scholars they expounded theories and expanded systems that showed that change is possible without outside influence of something that comes from nothing. They held the belief that atoms were never-ending in number shape and size and that they are continually on the move in empty space attracted to one another to form clusters or driven apart.

All changes in objects one can see according to their theory are brought about by the relocation of these atoms and while atoms are eternal the objects compounded out of them are not. The world and its species have all arisen from the collision of atoms continually moving about and will eventually disintegrate.

His theory with regard to the various taste sensations that a person experiences was that it was caused by the atom shapes in food. Jagged atoms that can tear the tongue create bitter sensations while other atoms being smooth and easily able to roll over the tongue would give one a taste of sweetness.

Together with his teacher they are credited with the view that expands on the theory that thoughts and sensations are created by images that infringe on the body and without images there would be no thinking and feelings. In later years the atomism viewpoint was viewed to tend towards atheist doctrine but is was never clear if that was Democritus’ own personal view on the subject.

He is reported to have been an enlightened self gratifying person who considered that good was related to a person’s inner state of mind. Fragments of his work tell of a thinking that considered moderation and a cautious approach to pleasure seeking as a good idea. Many of his ethical teachings center on keeping a good balance and restraint in one’s daily life and suggest that by staying within these parameters people would find their soul in a state of well-being.

A man who left behind many thought provoking ideas and philosophies Democritus of Abdera was certainly a person whose ideas survived the test of time and are still debated today.

While her own fictitious name would definitely eventually grace the tops of top fictional works, Ayn Rand came into this world under a different name in St. Petersburg, Russia on February 2, 1905. A beautiful teenage young woman, she usually fled out of the morose world all around her into the lively, upbeat world of newspaper fictional works. At the time she was eight, this girl set about creating her own tales, by nine, she made a decision to be a master novelist.

Fiction supplied the girl a intermittent repose from the stress most typically associated with living through the European Revolution, the very first attacks of which she witnessed from the actual outdoor patio of her parent’s house. The girl’s dad’s drug store boutique ended up getting shut down by the all new communist governing administration, so the Rosenbaums proceeded to go from a contented lifestyle to one of poverty and despair.

As a developing lady she learned philosophy and the historical past at the Institution of Leningrad, however almost immediately understood her foreseeable future would definitely be poor if she stayed in her own birthplace Russia. She began to direct attention to finding a strategy to proceed to The U.S.A. and start a better lifestyle.

During the mid 20′s, at the age of twenty-one, Alissa Rosenbaum deserted Russia once and for all by just obtaining a passport with the deception of going to her relatives in Chicago , il. She arrived in The Big Apple with just fifty dollars in her own wallet, though with love in her sight plus a absolutely new moniker: Ayn Rand.

After having a temporary holiday in Chicago, she departed for CA to engage in a job in writing for the movies. A serendipitous meeting with a famous director allowed Rand to land work as a movie extra in his film about the life of Jesus Christ.

Whilst on the stage, she came across a man that took her breath away – but then he briefly disappeared. Elated to see the guy yet again on public transportation, she intentionally tripped (!) him to help ensure that he wouldn’t vanish again. Soon after that, Frank O’Connor became her spouse and so the great companion of her personal life.

Ayn Rand worked random jobs for the following ten years, attempting to perfect the tongue and also focusing her skill sets as a writer. The lady wrote her first novel, We the Living, in the thirties. The particular work of fiction didn’t have positive results, of course, partly due to United states audiences’ more complex passion, during this period, with socialist Soviet Union.

Even though discouraged, Rand pressed on with her writing. She started preliminary research for the epic saga that would help to make her well-known: The Fountainhead. Even while working in an architect’s practice to collect background information for the project, she also composed the book Anthem, that she advertised first in Britain, in the late thirties, and then shortly after in the USA.

Of course, the release of The Fountainhead in the early forties created a storm of debate. Ayn Rand offered to the general public a type of hero they had never witnessed until now: Howard Roark, an outstanding, enthusiastic builder whose certainty and dedication to logical selfishness led him to blast through the crowds of mediocrity. More than a span of fifty years after its original syndication, The Fountainhead persists to distribute approximately hundreds of thousands of books yearly, in English and in a number of other different languages around the globe.

Elis W. Pumphrey publishes articles about school of thought and has spent practically 10 years helping people understand Ayn Rand quotes. One can learn about intellectual headlines like the Ayn Rand Atlas Shrugged movie by visiting her website.

There’s many end time prophecies from a variety of civilizations that come together and describe today’s times as when will the world end. With the infamous year 2012 quickly approaching, more and more people are investigating these predictions to determine their relevancy and have found some very frightening results.

Many books and even movie productions have focused on the infamous year of 2012, mainly because of how believable this particular prophecy is. A prediction that is based on a 5125 year calendar, developed by an ancient but mysterious civilization known as the Mayans, that is planed to end precisely on December 21, 2012 denoting the time when the world will reset itself. What makes this prediction so frightening, is how precise the Mayans were in their developing of calendars along with their advanced skills in interpreting the movement of the skies.

Even the Book of Revelations (The Holy Bible), describes a mushroom cloud that will cover a third of the world and flying objects that were made out of metal with “wings that sound like many chariots rushing into battle”. The bible describes many signs and events that appear to be clearly describing today’s times.

Even the infamous Nostradamus, famous for his many predictions that miraculous came true, described an event known as The Winter Soltice. It’s quite amazing on how consistent the events in his predictions are actually supported by modern day astronomy regarding a major solar event that will have transformational effects on our planet.

By studying these predictions in further detail, you will find that the most common belief is that there will be a transformational event that will change all life as we know it. What this means contradicts the many who believe the “Doomsday” scenario of a time when the world will be destroyed. What you will discover, is that what these predictions are saying is that there is a chance for survival. This leads us to the inevitable conclusion, that there is time for us to prepare now to avoid a devastating regret tomorrow.

The more you investigate, the more you should be prepared to unleash a very frightening possibility that may be heading our way. The frightening truths about natural disasters that are developing as we speak, the government cover-ups that are kept from the public, Swine Flu Pandemics and a variety of other events revealed by those that have devoted themselves to uncovering the truth.

How ironic that so many end time prophecies have so much in common when predicting how and when will the world end. The infamous Mayan 5125 long-count calendar, The Hopi Indian teachings, Aztec Calendars, The I-Ching prophecies and even the most trusted prophecies of them all….The Book of Revelations in the Holy Bible.

With the many predictions pointing to today’s times as when these events will begin to occur, there is a heightened concern as more and more people begin to investigate the evidence before us. There are some very frightening books and articles now surfacing that will literally scare you into believing and acting on what is to come. Those with credible investigating and keen insight to what is prophesized offer up a strong emphasis on the need for preparation….for it is believed that there is a possibility for survival.

Before you go any further with your internet research, I hope you check out this extremely informative article on when will the apocalypse occur.

A state where one is aware that a dream is going on is known as lucid dreaming or dream consciousness. There are different ways in which one can learn lucid dreaming.

Over time you will develop capability to lucid dream by directly interacting with your thoughts and belief systems. In this process it is essential to keep a positive attitude throughout and you must make lucid dreaming your top priority. Your belief in the fact that your dreams are vital will only enhance your chances to lucid dream. Once you have gained your confidence to lucid dream, you must work on recalling your dreams and since recalling your dreams is of consequence to you must commit to increase your dream recall, something that you wish to augment with time. You can incorporate small changes to your morning routine that will help you achieve this. When you get up in the morning, lie down and remain still.

You need to wake up slowly and allow yourself sometime to remember your dreams naturally. Keep focus on your mind on whatsoever you were just dreaming. Now you can allow your mind to float and your thoughts should wander through whatever mental images you may have. After remembering one part of the dream, unwind and permit the rest of the pieces to fall into their places. Incase you are unable to remember anything then you must work backwards and try to remember your dream.

The alarm clock method can be followed to recall your dreams which are the easiest method to follow. The idea behind this method is to awaken yourself when you are dreaming and fresh memories are there in your mind. In order to remember your dream you can even write down your dream and for this purpose keeping a dream journal is a good idea. Your lucid dream project will get maximized with this effort.

Many are aware of Ayn Rand mainly because of The Fountainhead, a publication written in ’43 which was truly contended. The actual story detailed Howard Roark, a brave architect whose hyper sensible self-interest set him apart from lesser individuals. This particular hero was fresh to the public, plus furnished a new standpoint on human nature. It was eventually just one particular of the author’s future novels – Atlas Shrugged – though, which would allow Ayn Rand her largest fame. For more than a few years, she agonized over her pice de rsistance which would show, in striking form, her philosophical system which she eventually termed “Objectivism.”

Although The Fountainhead portrayed one person’s win towards collectivistic loads within our society, Atlas Shrugged painted a deeper overview of the community and exactly what goes on when it manages to lose his / her “men of the intelligence.” Several yrs later, Ayn Rand’s heroines – Dagny Taggart, Francisco d’Anconia, Hank Rearden , and Mr. Galt – continue to inspire supporters with their strength, desire for daily life, and commitment to prosperous achievement.

Debatable, Atlas Shrugged would certainly grow to be Ayn Rand’s final proclamation for a writer. Following its launch in the late fifties, she started to put in writing technical essays explaining her idea of Objectivism in improved interesting depth, often stressing the important significance of reasons, individualism, as well as small government. By classes, columns, as well as community shows, she continued to invigorate audience using her progressive thoughts and really advanced moral restrictions.

Through the sixties Ayn Rand’s teachings were publicized vastly via the actions of the Nathaniel Branden Institute, where Ayn Rand and protege Nathaniel Branden recorded and sent out timely traditional talks on Objectivism to use at Ayn Rand clubs and chat organizations around the world. In these days many of these sources – and also brand new ones, for instance yearly Objectivism meetings – are offered by establishments like the Ayn Rand Institute and also the Objectivist Center.

One of many enthusiasts of Ayn Rand’s fiction are such VIPs as Federal Reserve Board Chairman Alan Greenspan and former President Ronald Reagan. Several other famous people that tell of Ayn Rand as an influence include celebrity Sharon Stone, Cypress Semiconductor Top dog T.J. Rodgers, rock artist Neil Peart of Rush, comedian Jerry Lewis, sports star Adam Vinatieri, India’s very first woman astronaut Kalpana Chawla (who passed away in the crash of space shuttle Columbia), celeb golfing enthusiast David Duval, America’s Broadcasting Company Information Reporter John Stossel … the listing goes on and on. Truth be told former president Bill Clinton’s wife admitted to experiencing “a Rand phase.”

Ayn Rand passed on in her own New York City home in the early eighties. Ever since her passing, fascination with her works of fiction as well as ideas only has multiplied with youthful idealists and the ones seeking guidance and explanations for some of life’s difficult problems. Her lifetime as well as work have always been showcased in magazines, documentaries, in addition to offline publications, and she was in fact commemorated after her death by having a U.S. mail stamp of her similarity in 1999.

The look associated with the stamp, developed by artisan Nick Gaetano, may well be an effective honor to the life of this progressive thinker and champ of the human being nature. It’s an picture of Ayn Rand’s facial area, placed about the high rises she cherished in her works being the embodiment of her own life’s themes: the enthusiasm connected with man’s heroic capability.

Pumphrey is currently writing about Ayn Rand|Ayn Rand|Ayn Rand|Ayn Rand|Ayn Rand quotes|Ayn Rand Institute|Ayn Rand books and philosophy.

Zeno of Elea (490-430 BCE) studied under and remained very loyal to his great teacher, Parmenides, who also was from Elea. Scholars credit Zeno as being the first person in Western history to evidence the problematic nature of infinity.

Unfortunately, we have been left with very little of Zeno’s original work. Plato, Aristotle, Proclus, and Simplicius wrote very much on Zeno’s work, and it is from these thinkers that we derive most of our information on him. Aristotle, however, wrote the most extensively on Zeno. Our lack of primary resources have forced scholars to interpret Zeno through secondary resources and speculate on some of his original arguments. In many cases, scholars leave us only educated guesses.

Before I being, I must elaborate on some interpretive problems with Zeno. Zeno wrote most extensively on what Philosophers now call “Zeno’s Paradoxes.” Plato, and most subsequent philosophers, interpret Zeno as a loyal student of Parmenides and see Zeno’s work as an exposition and reinforcement of his teacher’s work. Scholars have deemed this the most common, traditional interpretation. However, other interpretations do abide in academia today, seeing Zeno’s work as contestations of commonly held views in his Greek world or reading Zeno’s work as a minor critique of Parmenides in some cases. Some others have more recently interpreted Zeno’s work as his criticism of Pythagorean philosophy.

Since differing interpretations muddy an appropriate exegesis of Zeno’s work, and the most fitting interpretation of his work should include more mathematics than I am willing to write, I will simply regard Zeno’s work through the traditional interpretation, originally put forward by Plato. Therefore, we shall now review the nine paradoxes of Zeno in light of their support of Parmenides where applicable.

The Achilles Paradox. To demonstrate that motion is an illusion, Zeno proposed the Achilles paradox. Imagine a runner who darts off and the obviously faster Achilles chases him after the runner takes a head-start. For Achilles to reach the runner, he must quickly move to a point at which the runner currently is. By the time he reaches that point, the runner has already moved to a new point. Then, Achilles must move to a new point, from which the runner has already moved, and Achilles again chases another point, ad infinitum. As we see, Zeno criticizes the concept of motion, in accordance with Parmenidean philosophy that rejects the idea of motion and change.

The Racetrack Paradox. Scholars also refer to this as the progressive dichotomy. The paradox supposes a runner that begins a race at a fixed point, the starting line, and quickly moves to another fixed point, the finish line. However, according to Zeno, by the time he traverses half the distance of the track, the distance between start and finish, he must again traverse half the distance of the remainder, then half of the next remainder, ad infinitum. We see in yet another way how Zeno suggests motion and change is an illusion, or better yet, an impossible goal.

The Arrow Paradox. My personal favorite is the Arrow paradox. Consider that times exists as a series of successive and “timeless” moments. If an archer were to shoot an arrow, the arrow would only take up as much space as it is long in each moment. The arrow is fixed to that position in each moment because to move in or out of the position would require time, or a new moment. Therefore, the arrow must always be contained in a particular place in each moment. And since places do not move, the arrow itself never moves. The arrow only “appears” to move, and as a result, motion is illusory yet again.

The Stadium or Moving Rows Paradox. Perhaps his weakest paradox, it simply challenges a commonly held view of the time that considered passing bodies, although it unfortunately takes a number of paragraphs to explain. The general view held that if one body of fixed length moves at some constant speed past a stationary body of fixed length, then the moving body should be able to pass the stationary body again in the same amount of time.

Zeno contests this theory, proposing another paradox. Imagine a stadium where there are three equal, parallel, horizontal, and linear tracks. On track A, there is a stationary vehicle A, that rests in the center of the track; on track B, there is a vehicle B that starts from the very left of the track and moves at a constant speed, X, toward the right of the track; and on track C, there is a vehicle C that starts from the very right of the track and moves at a constant speed, X, toward the left of the track. It turns out that vehicles B and C pass one another in half the time that it takes for either vehicle B or C to pass A. He merely points out what we now consider relative velocity, but in this scenario, he stretches the analogy in attempt to state the following point that Aristotle rephrases in his Physica: “it turns out that half the time is equal to its double.”

For a more thorough explanation of this paradox, including helpful diagrams, I encourage you to read this article on Zeno’s Moving Rows in the Stanford Encyclopedia of Philosophy.

Limited and Unlimited Paradox. This paradox challenges a metaphysical account of plurality, which Parmenides also opposed. Imagine there are many things that exist in the world but only a fixed number of things exist, or the number of thing in the world are limited to some number. If we start with two objects, then there must be something that separates these objects and makes them distinctive from one another. As a result, some third “thing” must exist to separate them, whether it be some space or quality. Then, if there are three things in the world, there must also be a fourth… ad infinitum. In this paradox, for a limited number of things to exist in the world, the number of things must also be unlimited, which is an apparent contradiction. Zeno thus supports Parmenides’ monistic metaphysics.

Stay tuned for the next segment, when I shall espouse the final four paradoxes and their significance to philosophical, mathematical, and scientific worlds.
